Chiefly personal and official correspondence, 1925-1951 and undated, relating to Daniel's career, with smaller portion of materials documenting Daniel's farming operations in Saluda County and Edgefield County, S.C.; includes papers re his unsuccessful bid, 1944, for the U.S. Senate, and numerous requests for letters of recommendation or other assistance in acquiring work. Includes letters re upkeep, maintenance, rental, and sale of properties including the Daniel family homestead, 1449 acres in Saluda County, with 5 tenant houses, and a 366 acre farm in Edgefield County with 3 tenant houses; and his membership in Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society. Other papers document familiy activities of sisters Winnie S. Daniel (d.1947) and Julia F. Daniel, his daughter Janie Sue (b.1919), and wife Pearl Richardson.
